Welcome to Oakley Park Green
Station Road, Oakley
Keeping you informed
The Bedfordshire Charitable Trust (BCT) and Bedfordia Developments are pleased to share their proposals for a residential development on land off Station Road, Oakley. The site is allocated in the Made Oakley Neighbourhood Plan (ONP), identifying Oakley as a key settlement with the provision of a housing target figure of 25 - 50 dwellings.
The scheme, which has been submitted as an outline application, has been the subject of extensive pre-application discussions with Bedford Borough Council and meets the requirements of the Local Planning Authority (LPA) for this purpose.
The scheme will deliver a range of homes, including affordable housing, together with associated green infrastructure, as set out on the accompanying indicative masterplan. The intention of the application is to establish the principles of development to allow the land to be delivered by a housebuilder, and the full details of the development, other than the access strategy, will be determined through later application(s).
Vehicle access into the site will be via a new junction onto Station Road, designed to accord with Highway Authority standards, with the installation of a roundabout provision for traffic calming. There will be additional footpath links onto Station Road to cater for pedestrian access.
